The answer is (A) create educational programs to aid poor immigrant. Founders Jane Adams and Ellen Gates Starr who were active in the women’s rights movement wanted to develop new roles for women and also sponsor educational programs through the establishment of settlement houses. Residents of the settlement house taught classes in literature, history, art, domestic activities and other subjects. This empowered the immigrants to face the establishment and later working with them in formulating programs that would improve their lives.
