A king is a monarch being the head of the state exercising the highest authority in a sovereign. A monarch may inherit the throne or he could be chosen by the reigning monarch or by seizing the throne. Example of a Monarch is that of Britain. A king has the right to legislate, award honors or signing of peace contracts and even in declaring a war. He could also refuse to call for an election or can even choose a prime minister.
