Football is an unlikely lifetime sport because of its high physical impact nature. The sport is a contact sport resulting to a lot of possible injuries. As one person grows older, the body's capacity to regenerate after trauma is slower. Injuries tend to recover at a slower rate compared to younger generations. Tissues no longer develop as fast as they normally do. Bones when fractured take longer healing periods. This is the reason why many athletes who are involved in this sport take early retirement as an option to end their career in football.
