What evidence suggests that the first tetrapods were amphibians?

Evidence found that suggests that they were amphibians are the fossils of animals such as the fishapod who was basically a fish with four legs. It separated from other fish and developed legs and lungs that could be used outside of water and these fossils show that they were amphibians who could leave water when they wanted to.
