Deforestation is a very common activity in the region of Sub Saharan Africa. The problem with deforestation is that it will destroy the soil since the people who cut down the trees trample it, leave wastes there, and do other things that can contaminate the soil. Now once the soil is contaminated, then new trees cannot be planted anymore. It is because of this that the Sub Saharan African region has a lot of bald spots where trees used to stand.
