False, the Greeks did not invent Algebra.

Although there is no definite proof or confirmation, Babylonians and Arabs are relied on for the invention of Algebra. The word Algebra comes from Arabic al-jabr, in a booklet that was made about the subject from the Arabs. The Babylonians clarified quadratic equations, while Islam is trusted for solutions of equations. An Arabic, al-Khwarizmi addressed the elemental theory of equations with argument included. An Egyptian, Abu Kamil added the essential laws and identities of algebra, such as finding variables.

False! The Greeks did NOT invent algebra.

The Arabs invented algebra (we can thank them for all that complex algebra). He was a man by the name of Al-Khwarizmi.
