why does kennedy claim that the Era of good feelings is "something of a misnomer" for the decade following the War of 1812?

The reason why many historians dispute the idea that this era was truly one of "good feelings," is because there was indeed a lot of sectional strife taking place in the US during this time--especially over the issues of expansion and slavery.
