Confucianism is a philosophy from one of Chinas most famous philosophers (that I know of) Confucious. It emphasized on the Mandate of Heaven, stating that in order to be Emporer you must make sure your people are happy. If natural disasters occurred then that was a sign that the gods were not happy with your ruling and someone else was to take over. It also emphasized the importance of respecting your elders, especially your family.
