The signing of the Treaty of Versailles. It was the agreement to end the war as long as Germany would admit to causing the war, pay reparations, and downsize their military (to name a few). The forming of League of nations was part of the 14 point plan which would ultimately be the guidelines for a world without war. It didn't succeed.
