232620 in scientific notation is 2.3262 x 10⁵

To convert a number from a Standard Form to a Scientific Notation, do the following
1) place a decimal point such that there is one non-zero digit to the left of the decimal point.
from 232620 to 2.32620
2) count the number of decimal places the decimal has moved.
from 232620. to 2.32620 initially the decimal is after zero, we moved it to the left 5 times. therefore, 5 is the exponent of 10. ==> 10⁵
3) to finalize the scientific notation, drop the zeros.
from 2.32620 x 10⁵ to 2.3262 x 10⁵ ==> notice that the zero located after 2 is dropped.
