In act 1 scene 2 why does Shakespeare present macbeths actions on the battlefield through the captain's words Rather than through Macbeth's?

Probably because not everyone can be recognized by their superior but everyone can recognize themselves. It helped make macbeth seem better than if he said "oh i was great"
