Commercial revolution was the revolution that led to the concept of banking, the creation of guilds and the development of capitalism in Europe. Commercial revolution started in the late 13th century and lasted up to the 18th century. It was a period of great economic expansion, mercantilism and colonialism for the Europeans. Europeans started discovering spices, silk and other commodities that were rarely found in Europe. This increased the appetite for trade immensely. This created a great economic boom for the Europeans.
