How do you think this food web would be affected if the plants were eliminated?

Only the fungi would survive.
B)
Birds and nematodes would thrive.

The food web would produce more bacteria to compensate.

The answer is C. The food web would completely collapse

Only photosynthetic protists and other non-plant autotrophs would survive. All energy enters the biosphere through sun, and therefore autotrophs. If this questions assumes that only plants do photosynthesis, then it would be C.
Also, the answer wouldn't be D, because bacteria are prokaryotes and don't have the ability to do photosynthesis.
