Why is DNA replication important to the growth and development of a multi-cellular organism

because if they didnt the organism wouldnt know what it was made for

In my biology class we've been studying mitosis and meiosis and during the synthesis phase of interphase the DNA needs to be replicated so it can go to the other chromosomes when the cell divides. I'm not exactly sure this is the answer you're looking for but I hope it can help with something else if not this!!
