the correct answer is d. after animals eat plants or other animals that ate the plants, they also take in the carbon in the process. the decomposers later break down these animals or plants after they die, which releases CO2 back into the atmosphere, until plants take it in and the whole process starts again. IT'S ALL CONNECTED!
