Why didn't Britain's nuclear weapons deter Argentina from invading the Falklands?

Because Argentina knew that despite the British army having nuclear weapons they would be reluctant if even considering and prepared to use nuclear weapons for such a small scale conflict. They knew that such a conflict wouldn't be big enough to let the British government 'get away with' using such devastating weapons.
