One of the cultural artifacts that the Hittites borrowed was their script: they wrote in cuneiform, which was devised by the Sumerians (who were Mesopotamians, that is, from Mesopotamia).

They also borrowed heavily from Sumerians and other Mesopotamians in other areas: religion, law (which they adopted after Hammurabi's code but made it more lenient) - they conquered Mesopotamia and adopted a lot its cultural artifacts.
