JACOB MARLEY was the first ghost to appear to Scrooge in the story of "A Christmas Carol".

Jacob Marley was the former business partner of Ebenezer Scrooge. He appeared as a chained and tormented ghost, d*mned to forever wander the earth as punishment for his greed and selfishness when he was still alive.

Jacob Marley was the one who told Scrooge that he will be visited by three spirits and advised him to listen to what the spirits had to say so that he will not end up like Marley, a tormented ghost with no redemption in sight.
