Why does 225.60 × 0.25 equal 56

Well first of all, 225.6 * 0.25 does NOT equal 56. It equal 56.4
Second of all, even if it did equal 56... our number system has been defined so that 225.6 * 0.25 just works out to 56.4... there's not really a reason it does equal 56.4

It equals that because when you multiply a whole number by a decimal then the answer will always be smaller then the whole number.
