Thomas Paine, in response to the argument that the colonies have done well under the control of Britain, says that they could do far better without Britain, since Britain takes a great deal of the profits from trade for themselves.

Answer;
In response to the argument that the colonies have done well under the control of Britain, He argue that they could have done better on their own.

Additionally, in response to the argument that the British have protected the colonies, he argues that they did not do it on the colonists account but on their own account. Because the colonies were young and united, Thomas Paine said that the time of independence is now.
