These two terms, "grief" and "enthusiasm" both have differing definitions.
Grief is to feel and be full of deep sorrow, a more negative effect. Enthusiasm, on the other hand is more of a positive emotion, to be intensely and greatly filled with enjoyment. These are then seen as opposite feelings since they are negative and positive.
