Does the process of binary fission take place in multicellular organisms?

Yes. Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction that occurs in prokaryotic or unicellular organisms like bacteria, amoeba and paramecia. Some multicellular organisms like asteroid echinoderms can also reproduce through fission by splitting of their central disk.
