How does the length of the hypotenuse in a right triangle relate to the lengths of the legs?

This is an essay question. It would be nice if you could help me answer it in that form. :D

it holds the legs up. there is a right angle which is the little box in the 90 degree corner:) the hypotenuse is always the longest part on the triangle which you can not simplify:) so the right triangle has legs that you can simplify:)
