Archeologists discovered 4500-year-old Sumerian tombs in the city of Ur. Ur is known as the city where Abraham, from the Bible, lived. The city or Ur is in the ancient region of Mesopotamia or modern-day Iraq. The value of the artifacts found in these tombs showed the world the how rich the ancient Sumerian culture was. About 1800 burials were excavated from these tombs; of which sixteen were classified as royalty. The other burials are servants and other high-ranking officials who were buried with the royal person.
