Answer is 2.
Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases trap heat energy in the atmosphere and contribute to global warming.
By reducing the CO2 levels in the air, less heat will be absorbed in the Earth’s atmosphere and it would escape into space - causing the Earth’s temperature to drop.
