The pituitary gland produces of hormones that act on other glands that control metabolism, growth, sexual maturation, reproduction, blood pressure, any other vital functions

* anterior pituitary synthesizes and secretes (thyroid stimulating hormones, adrenocorticotropic, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, prolactin, growth hormone)

* posterior lobe stores and secretes (oxytocin, antidiuretic hormone)
