Round 38.86 to one decimal place

when rounding to one decimal place, that means to round only the first number after the dot which is 8, but then you have to look at the second number to see if you need to change the first number or not and since the second number is above 4 then you gotta round it up to 9. so the answer would be 38.9

so you round the .8
look at the hundredth place and you see 6 so round up
38.9
