Answer: Urea which is commonly used in the laboratories denatures the protein. The urea is a chaotropic agent and by being an chaotropic agent it uncoils the tertiary structure of protein by destabilizing the non covalent bonds that is present between the atoms inside the protein. There are many methods by which the proteins can be denatured by the help of urea. This method can be direct or indirect.
