The Mayflower Compact was the document that gave the people of Plymouth a form of self-government. Mayflower was originally the name of the ship which brought pilgrims from Europe to the coast of America. All able male adults on board the ship had agreed in signing an agreement to set up a colony in the place they've discovered. They named this document Mayflower compact and the place Plymouth Colony. The agreement contained laws which were all enforced in America or what they called the New World.
