5/6 + 1/2 change 1/2 so it has the same denominator as 5/6
1/2 would be 3/6 add 5/6 which is 8/6 and 8/6 is improper so you have to make it a mixed number and it would be 1 2/6 and that can be simplified and so the answer would be 1 1/3
