identify the compound sentence? A while it rained on the beach, we swam in the ocean. B Because it had been sunny all week, we did not bring umbrellas. C The rain began to fall, but we did not want to leave. D Last Summer, we decided to drive to the beach.

The answer to that would be C because two independent clauses are combined using a comma then the conjunction (I believe that's what it's called) but therefore making it into a compound sentence. Hope you like this answer and I hope this helps :)
