Answer: False

The industrial agriculture is done in control conditions that utilizes more mechanical energy from machines and electronics whereas in sustainable agriculture is a modification over conventional agricultural practices. The sustainable development requires the heavy vehicles that run on fossil fuels for tillage and plowing of soil of agriculture field. But in industrial based agriculture practices the machines are used to facilitate tillage and plowing of the soil.

Hence, the statement industrial agriculture uses far more fossil fuels than sustainable development is false.
