why did Rome lead all their roads based off of Rome

The reason for this was that traders from different nations that were interested in trading with Rome could know where the capital is with its main officials. It also allowed foreign nations to come to the main city of the Roman empire if they wished to forge an alliance or start some sort of relationship with the Roman empire.
