What is the importance of the tree in a food web?

In a food web, animals eat the leaves of a tree.  Those animals are in turn eaten by the people at the top of the food chain.

this is not geography but:
the tree provides a habitat for many animals
it is a producer, it stores up oxygen and produces leaves
