These pathways of nerves (neurons) are called efferent and afferent pathways.

When we're talking about efferent neuronal pathways, we're usually talking about those that have an Effect, meaning they most of the times send messages to different parts of our bodies, depending on which efferent pathways we're talking about. When we're talking about afferent pathways, however, we're talking about those that receive information.
