The primary function of certification is: a) to give credit to a facility that meets certain professional standards and c) to grant a credential to an individual as an authorization to teach. The first form of certification would be product certification when a product has achieved certain standards and qualified for certain criteria and the second one, professional certification is when a person has achieved the qualification for a certain job.
