The infrahyoid muscles or strap muscles are composed of four pairs of muscles in the frontal part or anterior part of the neck. These four parts are the; sternohyoid--thin, narrow muscle which attached the hyoid bone to the sternum and is connected to the tendons; the sternothyroid--found in the neck area ans is commonly known as sternothyroideus; thyrohyoid--skeletal muscle on the neck which elevates the larynx and depresses the hyoid;and, the omohyoid which depresses the hyoid bone.
