I believe the answer is: B.resistance


During the resistance stage, Our body would automatically try to make adjustment for the physiological changes.

After that, our body would maintain the adjustment until we feel that the physiological changes have been reverted back to normal.

I would say the 'fight or flight' response best indicates the body's adaptation to stress whereby something that causes a lot of stress like a serious illness in a family (including mental illness) will elicit a reaction to either fight it and be tough or flee from it which may be giving the affected person time to think things out and calm down, for example.
