It is likely that some First Nations supported the railway, while others did not. Some First Nations probably supported the railway because it gave them a chance to trade more extensively. Moreover, it was a convenient and efficient method of transportation. However, others might not have liked the idea. They might have mourned the loss of their land and the expansion of settlers, as well as the damage to the natural environment (in particular to the migratory patterns of bison).
