structures in plant leaves that open and close to maintain homeostasis are called stomata. This is where gases would diffuse in and out of the leaf.

The right answer is True, it is called stomata.

A stoma is a small orifice present in the epidermis of aerial organs of plants (on the underside of the leaves most often). It allows gas exchange between the plant and the ambient air (oxygen, carbon dioxide, water vapor ...) as well as the regulation of the osmotic pressure.
