Hunter gatherers :::: a member of a nomadic people who live chiefly by hunting and fishing, and harvesting wild food.

Farmers :::: a person who owns, works on or poerates an agricultural. A person who works on the land or who keeps livestock, especially on a farm.

Hunters and gatherers were nomads, following their food sources, whereas farmers stayed in the same place, growing crops and domesticating animals. There were a few similarities, of course. They both collected food from animals and plants. Otherwise, they were opposites.
