The largest of the five so-called "civilized tribes" were the D) Cherokee. The Cherokee are a Native America tribe indigenous to the Southeastern United States (with the states they inhabited/inhabit being Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina). They were considered one of the five civilized tribes, because they adopted a significant portion of the cultural and technological practices the European American settlers had.
