One of the most important sources of irrigation water is the Jordan River which flows into the Dead Sea from the Sea of Galilee in the North. It is the second largest body of water used for irrigation purposes in Israel. The Jordan River is of such importance because it has such a deep spiritual meaning to the people in the area.
