How do you multiply and divide equations?

Equations are

-5 and +6 etc.

Here is an example:

-3 x +2 = -6

Two different signs (-,+) means negative.

You never multiply or divide equations.

When you think it'll help you get closer to the solution, you might
multiply or divide ONE SIDE of an equation by something. But as
soon as you do that, you absolutely must do the same thing to the
other side of it.
