Mary filled a water cooler with 6 1\2 gallons of water. She forgot to close the plug and 2 5\6 gallons leaked out.she adds 1/4 gallons how many gallons are there now

4 gallons because 6 - 2 = 4 gallons & then  3/6 gallons -5/6 gallons would be 3 4/6 gallons + 2/6 = 4 gallons
