Emperor Justinian I of the Byzantine Empire was viewed as a b)priest-king, identifying his religious and secular roles. He has been canonized by the Church as a saint, but Justinian I is noted as having restored his Empire and to have reconquered the lost western half of the Roman Empire, which was so important in history.
