The counting numbers, also called the natural numbers are positive whole numbers starting from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, . . .. It is used to count and describe the number of whole properties. When you add "0" to the counting numbers you have the set of whole numbers and when you add the set of negative numbers to the whole numbers, you have the set of integers.
