For the purposes of this discussion, the geosphere is the part of the Earth's system that includes the earth's interior, rocks and minerals, landforms and the all the processes that shape the earth's surface. The earth is not a perfect sphere. This makes it difficult to calculate the diameter of the earth but it is still possible to calculate the average diameter of the earth. It has been calculated that the average diameter of the geosphere is 12,756km.
