-0.4x - 1.2 > 0.8

First, add 1.2 to both sides. / Your problem should look like: -0.4x > 0.8 + 1.2
Second, simplify 0.8 + 1.2 to 2. / Your problem should look like: -0.4x > 2
Third, divide both sides by -0.4. / Your problem should look like: x < - 5.

Answer: x < -5
