Can you please help me with this question: Explain the metaphor “my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found”

Answer:

This metaphor means it concludes with the father explaining that because the younger son had returned, in a sense, from the dead. So now that his son returned, he is "alive", and when he was lost, he was "dead".
